Polyflex® (Rx) (ampicillin)
A broad-spectrum antibiotic, which as bactericidal activity against a wide range of common gram-positive and gram-negative bacteria in cattle and calves including non-ruminating (veal calves) for respiratory tract infections and bacterial pneumonia (shipping fever, calf pneumonia and bovine pneumonia)
Approved for use in veal calves
Approved for use in lactating dairy cows
Short 48-hour milk withdrawal and six-day slaughter withdrawal
Federal law restricts this drug to use by or on the order of a licensed veterinarian
Polyflex® Injection should not be used in animals that are found to be hypersensitive to the product, penicillin, or cephalosporin. Treated cows should not be slaughtered for food until six days after the last treatment. Milk intended for food from treated cows must be discarded for 48 hours after last treatment.
