Ted Robinson has won more National Reined Cow Horse Association(NRCHA) World Championship Snaffle Bit Futurity titles than any other rider. In the process, he has collected more than $1.5 million in earnings – the first and only person to do so. A two-time World’s Greatest Horseman Champion and a renowned horse trainer, Ted is passionate about the importance of West Nile disease prevention. “When horses come in for training, we always ask if they’ve received the West Nile-Innovator® vaccine,” he says. “If not, we call our veterinarian to make sure they get it. I firmly believe every horse should receive the West Nile-Innovator® vaccine to protect against West Nile virus.”
Give them 15 seconds and they’ll run circles around you — literally. Tanya, Tyrney and Taylor Steinhoff, a trio of sisters from Oklahoma, are moving up in the barrel racing world. With a number of championship titles under their belts, the Steinhoff sisters know healthy horses are important to their success and look to their parents and their veterinarian to help them make smart horse health decisions. Garry, their father, is a firm believer in preventative health measures. “As soon as we made the decision to go to competitions in Florida this spring, we vaccinated with West Nile-Innovator®,” he said. “We rely on our veterinarians to treat our horses based on where we’re going and the threats in the area. They’re critical in keeping our horses healthy and our girls successful.”
"Our veterinarians are very much a part of our team," says Debbie McDonald, a Hailey, Idaho, resident who recently won the team bronze medal in dressage at the Olympics in Athens. "Without their dedication and knowledge, I can honestly say my horse, Brentina, and I would not have made it to the Olympics." Winner of the silver medal in dressage in the World Equestrian Games in Spain and recipient of the Whitney Stone Cup by the U.S. Equestrian Team Foundation, Debbie and her veterinarians have relied on the West Nile-Innovator® vaccine since spring 2003. "West Nile-Innovator® has been proven to be very safe and effective," says Debbie, "it’s just another example of how Fort Dodge Animal Health is always looking to improve the welfare of horses."
"Fort Dodge Animal Health was the first company to anticipate the West Nile crisis in the horse community," says three-day eventing champion Phillip Dutton "and its vaccine is still the best on the market." Phillip lives and trains in West Grove, Pennsylvania, and competes internationally in venues ranging from the Rolex Kentucky Three-Day Event to the Olympics. Career highlights include the Australian team gold medal in both Atlanta and Sydney, along with first place showings at the Fair Hill International, the Foxhall and the North American Beaulieu Classic. "Horses are athletes, and like human athletes, they need to be healthy," says Phillip. "I depend on our veterinarian to keep my horses healthy and sound, and that includes vaccination with West Nile-Innovator®."
